Privacy
h2made makes Local POS. In short: Local POS keeps your shop's data on your devices and in your own iCloud, and never sends it to us, only crash reports that don't include it.
Local POS
What Local POS stores
The products and product photos, categories, stock changes, sales and promotions you add, in a database on your device. The store details you enter in Settings (store name, address, phone number, tax number, receipt footer, currency and tax) are kept on that device only.
What h2made receives
Only crash reports and diagnostics, described below. Local POS has no account, no advertising and no tracking, and there's no Local POS server for your data: your products, stock, sales, photos and store details are never sent to us.
Crash reports and diagnostics
To find and fix bugs, Local POS sends reports of crashes, freezes and errors to the crash-reporting service we use, along with timings for a sample of app launches and screens, so we can see where the app is slow. It also counts app sessions, so we can see how often the app runs without crashing. A report includes what went wrong and where in the app's code, the app and system versions, the device model, your language, region and time zone, memory and storage figures, a random ID created when the app is installed, and recent app events such as screen changes. It never includes your products, stock, sales, customers or photos, screenshots, or your name or Apple Account. The service sees the IP address a report comes from; we've set it not to store it. Reports aren't used for advertising or to track you, they're deleted after 90 days at most, and every App Store version of Local POS sends them. If you share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may also send us its own crash reports for Local POS.
iCloud sync
When you're signed in to iCloud, your products, product photos, categories, stock changes, sales and promotions are also stored in the private database of your iCloud account, so your iPhone, iPad and Mac stay in sync. Apple runs iCloud under its own privacy policy; app developers, us included, can't read private iCloud databases. Store details from Settings aren't synced.
Camera
On iPhone and iPad, Local POS uses the camera only to scan barcodes and to photograph products. On a Mac, a barcode scanner works like a keyboard, and product photos come from Photos, a file, or an iPhone or iPad nearby with File → Import from iPhone or iPad.
Product photos and recognition
Photos you take or choose are analyzed on your device with Apple's Vision framework to read packaging text and barcodes and to find matching products at the till. They are never sent to us or to anyone else for recognition.
Product name suggestions
Where Apple Intelligence is available, product names are suggested on your device by Apple's on-device language model, never Private Cloud Compute. Elsewhere, the suggestion comes from text recognized on the packaging.
Payments at the till
Local POS records how each sale was paid (cash, card, mobile pay or other). It doesn't take card payments or connect to card readers, and it never sees your customers' card details.
Sharing and printing receipts
A shared receipt goes only to the person or app you choose in the share sheet. Email and messages are sent from your own accounts, and Local POS doesn't keep your customers' email addresses or phone numbers. Printing goes from your device to your printer with AirPrint.
Receipt QR codes
The whole receipt is inside the QR code's link, after the # sign. When a customer scans it, their browser opens our receipt page at localpos.h2made.com and shows the receipt from the link itself. Browsers never send the part after # to a server, so the receipt never reaches us. Like any website, the server sees an ordinary page request, such as the IP address and browser type. The page loads nothing from anywhere else, uses no cookies or analytics, and asks search engines not to index it.
Purchases
Apple handles payment for Local POS Pro through the App Store, and Local POS checks your purchase on the device. We never receive your payment details or purchase history.
Deleting your data
Delete products, categories and promotions in the app. Sales stay in your records for bookkeeping; a refund marks a sale as refunded. To remove everything from a device, delete the app. To remove what's stored in iCloud, open Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Local POS, or System Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage on a Mac.
Children
Local POS is a tool for businesses and isn't directed at children.
